Weebl and Bob - Vampiress's Blog
sorry, i haven't been inspired recently to write here or in my other more personal blogs. i don't know what is wrong with me, but i have no motivation.
so anyway, forth of july is upon us again. i get monday off from work to celebrate, even though it is the 5th. i'm left wondering if this means anything to anyone anymore. i'm certaintly ok with being an american, even proud sometimes, but in my daily life, i don't think much about it. i wake up, go to work, go home, play on irc. i don't really ponder where i live much. fourth of july is nice, but i think it's become a bit too political. it used to be all about being proud of where you live and of your independence and learning about how the country was formed. this year michael moore released farenheit 9/11 (i have yet to see this movie) and all i hear people talking about is bush. how bush makes them embarrased to be an american, how other people hate americans because of bush. it's just sad to me. i have com[pletely stopped watching tv. i guess i'm just ignorant, or want to be ignorant, but i am tired of all of the hating and violence. it's just not cool, even if you dislike a person or president, to disparrage him in such a way as i have heard recently. now i do not like bush, but i hear people saying all sorts of nasty things they would do to him or should be done to him and it saddens me. also when regan passed, there was also lots of negativity towards him. ffs, he was a president, former, he made decisions you didn't aggree with, but he has passed, no need to still violently hate him, he cannot hurt you anymore. i guess i don't know what this ramble is about, just that things have lost meaning to me. i do not find joy in debating politics anymore, in hearing about politics, or watchign tv, even comedies. i just want to crawl into my little cave and ignore it all because it doesn't really affect me. yes i know that's over simplifing it, and i do sort of listen in on some on the issues like gay marriage and healthcare. but in the big scheme of things, is me getting all worked up over these issues really going to change anything? i just don't see how i make a difference. i mean i know i make differences in peoples lives that i interact with online, and irl, but i'm not seeing how i affect the state of the world or the countryin anyway. i really don't see how people could dislike me for being american. i just do't get it.
and this probably makes no sense and is full of gramatical errors. oh well.
